Birthday PartiesWhat if the weather is bad? unfortunately we cannot control the weather we will still carry out the event if it is raining but the ponchos we supply are only made of plastic and offer little warmth, you should bring with you dry clothing and a towel. What about special diets? We are able to cater for special diets provided we are told at least 48 hours in advance. It is not possible on the day to cater for special needs, as each meal is provided by another company. What about non swimmers? We are happy to take out non swimmers and all our staff have had life guard training, buoyancy aids are supplied and will be worn at all times on or near the water. Will they get wet? Almost certainly, please ensure they have dry cloths with them to change into Is the water safe? Yes the water authorities check the water quality regularly. Can non canonist join the party later? Yes by special arrangements there will be a charge incurred for extra meals etc. Why are there only allowed to be a maximum of 10 in the party? This is to ensure the safety of the people taking part it is not possible to safely supervise any more than this. This number may have to be reduced for special needs children. Safety is paramount at London canoes What is the cake made of? The birthday cake can be made of sponge or fruit cake it is a matter for you to choose your preference or order one of each.
DisabilitiesCan any level of disability make use of your services? It is impossible to give a blanket guarantee to enable every level of disability to make use of our services, however we are training staff to be able to assist with those with physical disabilities and we will try as hard as we can to accommodate those with disabilities. Please contact us and we can discuss your needs and try to accommodate you. Can visually impaired persons make use of your services? Yes we have bells fitted to the guides boat as well as bright orange tail markers for the boats to enable those with visual impairment enjoy the day out.
EquipmentWhy do the staff use different equipment than customers is the customers equipment inferior No the equipment the staff use often needs more experience to use, or has to do other jobs for example the buoyancy aid has to carry equipment and can be difficult to fit particularly for beginners. Will the boyance aid stop me drowning. The buoyancy aid is just that it aids you from sinking. It is not a life jacket which is designed to keep you afloat for many hours. This is not necessary in canals.
Financial stuffWhy must I pay a deposit if I book on line. Experience has shown us people tend not to show if they have not paid a deposit Why do I not get a discount if I over hire for more than an hour. Over hire can be a serious problem if the canoe has been booked out. If I loose a piece of equipment will I have to pay for it Yes, at the current cost of replacement which will be on your hire agreement.
